Weapons damage and time of fire ( optimized weapons Setup )

[ TDF ] = [ WEP Capacity] / ( [EPS] – [Capacitor Recharge Rate] )

Our Tool for automatic calculation of damage and energy used : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... =307357890
While a normal ship configurator can fulfill the request to know if the power output from the power plant will be enough to keep your weapon active, slightly more difficult is to understand how much damage our weapon could deliver but more important how long our capacitor will be able to keep firing.
In fact, the DPS (Damage per Second) obtained from configuring tools, could be achieved with different setup as for raw value, but the real fit effectiveness is mostly due to how much are we able to fire.
Some prefers the one shot method, mostly with weapons such as rail gun and plasma accelerator, the following unrolling will be helpful for those too.
Let’s repeat two facts
DPS: Damage per second delivered by single weapon
EPS:Energy used for any second of fire
Below the most important chart for your calculations
Below attached to complete this guide:
DPS non thermal weapons► Mostra testo
DPS all weapons, against shields► Mostra testo
Shield Damage per single shot weapons► Mostra testo
Let’s calculate the fire time we will get:
[ TDF ] = [ WEP Capacity] / ( [EPS] – [Capacitor Recharge Rate] )
We will get these data from Coriolis and the above chart,
For example a 7A Power Distrubutor gives WEP: 61 MJ / 6.1 MW
With:
[ WEP Capacity ] = 61
[ Capacitor Recharge Rate ] = 6.1 ( assuming 4 pips on wep )
In [EPS] we will put the eps sum of the several weapons we want to fire at the same time, obtained by the chart above.
Assuming we equip our ship with the above mentioned distributor (a gunship specifically) with 2 weapons groups, thermic and kinetik, the first made by 3C/F Beam + 2 x 2D/F beam we have:
[ TDF ] = 61 / [ ( 5.65 + 3.42 + 3.42 ) - 6.1 ] = 9.54 s
Our ship will fire continuously for 9.54 s before to drain the capacitor.
How much damage will it deliver?
Very easily multiplying the TDF by the DPS sum of the specific weapons, so we will have:
[ DMG ] = [ TDF ] x [ DPStot ]
9.54 x ( 30.33 + 19.38 + 19.38 ) = 659 MJ ( ndr.. you might wanna get the gunship O.o )
This is the damage we will do on the enemy shield, assuming he will have 0 PIP on SYS. Next we will take a close look on the damage resistance dynamics related to pips.
DVSEO thinks about you, go and try to make calculations, try to twist your fit, you will find a lot of surpises.
